How To Pull Off The Country Look

Even though each one of us has a countless number of dresses, following the latest trend is a must! At least that's what we tell ourselves. There are few styles that remain unique in fashion trend cycles, and Country style is one of them, it is a classic style that will never go out of fashion. I personally think it is an essential part of every girl's wardrobe! There are so many ways to pull off a modern Country style with few elements. We will take the Country fashionista Miranda Lambert as an inspiration of the outfits because she has a plain Western Country sense of style. Note that you don't have to wear Country style from head to toe to pull off a Western Country look, you do not have to wear a cowboy hat to complete the outfit. Our outfits will have a modern sense of style. Also, do not hesitate to send me an Email at Gust0010446@gmail.com if you would like to share any of your Country outfits to display, and the winner of "outfit of the week" will get this customized t-shirt this week!

The Young Superstar Who Became Country Music Legend

The glamorous superstar Taylor Swift has changed the history of Country Music with top selling albums and 211 music awards.

Mini Bio
Taylor Swift was born in Pennsylvania, on December 13th, 1989. She grew up in a Christmas tree farm. She taught herself how to play a guitar at the age of 12. She used to practice alone for hours till her fingers bled. She made her family move to Nashville to support her pursue her dream of becoming a star. Her trade marks are golden curly hair, cowboy boots, glittery guitars, writing her own songs based on her diaries, mostly about her relationships. She was bullied back in high school which motivated her to write songs, in one of her interviews she states that she should actually thank her bullies because if she hadn't felt so miserable being bullied and left alone she wouldn't have been motivated to write songs. Awful experiences made her who she is today. So far, she has released 4 albums, she is the youngest artist to ever win a Grammy award for album of the year! hold on... that's not all! she's now named billboard's artist of the year, Entertainer of the year for country music as well as Academy of Country music and top selling artist in history. That's fascinating, isn't it? I'm not even done yet.

Platinum album
Her newest album "RED" is the only triple platinum album in history! It sold 3 million copies during the first month of the release. The record-breaking sales are impressive and extraordinary, let's all sit down for a minute and absorb the fact that Taylor's new album out-sold Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Rihanna's... combined! Taylor Swift now has won 211 music awards in total with 4 top selling albums.

Here's a playlist of her Red album's songs!

Billboard Music Awards 2013

The ceremony took place in Las Vegas, where the dazzling superstar Taylor Swift dominated the music awards by winning 8 awards at once, she is indeed the shining star of the red carpet. She thanked all her fans stating that they are the best and longest relationship she ever had. Regardless of her scooping up 8 awards, she performed her new song "22" and it was a fantastic performance, check it out!
"I wish I was strong enough to lift not one, but 8 of you."

These are the music awards she won:
  • Top Female Artist
  • Top Billboard 200 Artist
  • Top Digital Song
  • Top Country Artist
  • Top Country Album
  • Top Country Song
  • Artist of the Year
  • Top Album

Hidden Messages

Did you know that Taylor Swift hides notes between her lyrics in each songs of her album for her fans to decode? It is a hidden message so you would guess who the song is written for, all the lyrics are written in small capital letters except for few letters, when you gather them up it will make a sentence! I personally find this very interesting and smart.

The Company Abercrombie gets backlash from Swifties

The Company Abercrombie & Fitch for clothing has mocked the superstar's love life with one of its t-shirt that says "#More boyfriends than TS", which obviously mocks the celebrity's dating record, but Taylor Swift's fans have responded with extreme negativity and have requested on Change.org to take down those t-shirts because it's plainly offensive. The Company kept getting complains and negative feedback from the celebrity's fans till it actually stopped producing the t-shirts. Abercrombie even apologized to Swifties after this incident on Twitter.
I personally think it was very rude and uncalled for, even though Taylor Swift writes about those who she dates, we are not in a position to judge someone's personal life. Besides, her music is beyond amazing which is what matters in the end and she is "the most charitable" celebrity in Hollywood since 2011.

" If you're lucky enough to                                          be different, don't ever change. "

Country Music was Originally Called “Hillbilly Music”

Four Things You Didn't Know about the Origins of Country Music

  • Atlanta, rather than Nashville, should have become "Music City, U.S.A." Not only was there was more local talent in Atlanta, but more importantly, in the mid-1920s the five elements that together made commercial country music possible: radio, record making, live touring, song writing, and song publishing, all came together in Atlanta. At the center of this enterprise was Polk Brockman and his first find, Fiddlin' John Carson. For the whole story see Chapter 2 of Creating Country Music.
  • Jimmie Rodgers, the "Father of Country Music," didn't think he was the father of anything but three daughters. When "discovered" by Ralph Peer of RCA he was just trying to be a snappy southern vaudeville act. In a letter to his wife, Carrie, he said derisively of the music Peer wanted him to perform: "If I can't get 'em in town, we'll go to the woods." In the same year—1927—Peer also "discovered" the Carter Family. For more details on the creation of these "authentic" country artists.
  • Why is country music called "country?" Joe McCarthy, the anti-Communist witch-hunting Senator from Wisconsin, had a lot to do with it. From the late 1940s country had been a musical genre in search of a label—something less degrading than "hillbilly." Everything from "old-time" to "oat tunes" was tried out, but "folk" gained currency with the unexpected success of the Weavers, whose hits included "Goodnight Irene" and "On Top of Old Smoky." Even Hank Williams called himself a folk singer. Then came the 1952 Senate hearings, where McCarthy demanded that the Weavers' lead singer, Pete Seeger, testify about his "Communist leanings." The industry dropped "folk" like a hot rock and "country and western" or simply "country" came into wide use. For the further story of the consolidation of the country music industry around Nashville.
    The book "Creating Country Music"
  • How did "western" get linked to "country"? Credit (or blame) Hollywood. Luckily, Hollywood didn't call the tune, just the dress code. Gene Autry and other Western-cowboy-outfitted artists were much more popular in B films of the 1930s and 1940s than were their Southern-hillbilly-styled counterparts like Roy Acuff. So, emerging honky-tonk artists like Patsy Montana, Ernest Tubb, Hank Snow, Rex Griffin, and Webb Pierce donned cowboy-styled outfits to sing their hillbilly songs of life's travails. Increasingly backed by hot, electrified instruments, they shaped the sound, lyric, and look that has been at the core of country music ever since. It takes three chapters—5, 6, and 10—to tell the story of this evolution. Along the way, you'll learn about John Wayne's short career as a singing cowboy.
